Haiphong

Haiphong, known as the city of flame flowers is an important port city in Northern Vietnam.  It spots flame tree-line boulevards and plentiful congregation of colonial-era buildings.

Halong Bay

Perhaps, the most famous in Haiphong has to be UNESCO World Heritage Site of Halong Bay, which includes 1,600 islands and islets, forming a spectacular seascape of limestone pillars.  Halong Bay is a must-go destination for every tourist visiting northern Vietnam.  If you have not been to Halong Bay, you have not been to north Vietnam.

Take a 2D1N cruise and sail along the numerous limestone karsts and take in the view.  Our cruises are suitable for small group tours, not touristy.  We deliberately choose small sail boats for our clients so that you can enjoy a relaxing and peaceful cruise, where quality triumphs over quantity.

Unfortunately, over the years, Halong Bay has become a victim of over tourism as well as copping some bad publicity of tourists littering in the bay.  If you are the type of tourist that prefers to tread off the beaten tracks, with less tourist crowd, read on below…

Cat Ba Island

Cat Ba island is the largest island in Halong Bay.  It is rugged and mostly untouched.  You can do hiking, bicycle riding or just spend time at the lovely deserted beaches (where you can have the whole beach to yourself).

Cat Ba Island

Plan at least 3D2N stay in Cat Ba island.  Embark on some picturesque hikes in Cat Ba National park with the golden-headed langurs, the world’s most endangered primate as company😆😛.   You can also spot deers, civets, and giant black squirrels.

Besides hiking, you can enjoy kayaking in the clear turquoise waters or just be a beach bum.  Whatever you choose, there is something for everyone to do.

We like Cat Ba Island because it is idyllic and promotes sustainable travel.

Lan Ha Bay

Lan Ha Bay

If you run out of things to do in Cat Ba island, head over to Lan Ha Bay, just a ferry ride away.  Lan Ha Bay is the less popular “Halong Bay” which is equally stunning, minus the crowd.  We hope we have your attention 😀😀

Take a 2D1N cruise along Lan Ha Bay and have all the views all to yourself.  Lan Ha Bay is less crowded, but we know not for long.  If you like to experience how Halong Bay used to be like, head over to Lan Ha Bay and enjoy a peaceful relaxing holiday.  We only use small group sail boats to provide quality tours for our clients.

Ninh Binh

With endless rice fields, tall limestone mountains and amazing caves, Ninh Binh which is 3 hours away from Hanoi,  is a destination not to be missed.

Tam Coc

Tam Coc, also known as “Halong Bay on land”, is a small haven of tranquillity where you immerse in an impressive setting.  Sitting in the middle of rice fields and mountains, far from the crowds and chaos lies Tam Coc, the small paradise.

Tam Coc

If you have always dream of cycling along rice padi fields, Tam Coc provides the ideal opportunity as the padi fields are on flat land, which made riding easy.  Take time to enjoy the 50 shades of green and admire the great works of nature.

A must do activity in Tam Coc, to ride the Tam Coc boat tour in the morning.  The boat tour takes about 2-3 hours among the many caves.  They are rowed by the ladies feet.  If you are keen, you can have a go too.  A truly local experience.

Trang An Landscape Complex

The UNESCO listed, it is Vietnam’s only Mixed Cultural and Natural Heritage Site.  Trang An Landscape Complex is a majestic view dominated by limestone karsts covered with tropical plants and joint by emerald views and sapphire rivers.

Hop on one of the boat tour that ply the rivers of Trang An Landscape Complex.  Each tour takes about 2 hours and you would pass by numerous caves and grottoes.  By taking the boat tour, you would have a better appreciation of the wonders of nature in this region.

Hang Mua Caves

Mua Caves

The Mua Caves overlook the valleys with the Tam Coc river running through.  It is one of the best viewpoints for Vietnam as well as a good sunset.

Hike up the 500 steps to Mua Caves and enjoy a spectacular sunset.  The best viewpoint is the Mua Caves dragon that overlooks the valley surrounding the caves.  We recommend to stay at least one night in one of the eco-lodges so that you have ample time for sunrise and sunset (without the crowd).

Sapa

Sapa

Sapa is an old charming town that mesmerizes visitors by the cascading terrace rice padi fields, friendly ethic groups and eco friendly resorts.  In Sapa, you are endowed by nature and time seems to have stopped.

Embark on multiple days trekking to different ethnic villages and embrace their ways of life.  Cook with the locals, and stay over in one of the eco-friendly homestay.  Travel like a local in Sapa.

If however, trekking is not your cup of tea, we offer driven tours to visit different ethnic villages.  Along the way, you can enjoy the glorious views the region has to offer.

We highly recommend visiting the Ba Hac market during the weekend.  It is a colourful ethnic Sunday market, filled with local vibes with the minority tribes selling their produce and crafts.  A sight not to be missed.

Ha Giang

For those who had been to north Vietnam and looking for something new to do, head off to Ha Giang region close to the Chinese border.  The journey will bring you back in time and encounter some of Vietnam’s most rugged and grand landscapes.  Soak up the majesty of landscapes and the atmosphere of the remote towns and villages.

Ha Giang is getting popular by the days and it won’t be long before most tourists flood here.  Head there before it turns commercialise.

Ha Giang

Ha Giang Loop is best experience on 2 wheels, that is, if you are up to it.  Otherwise, we recommend booking a private driven tour for at least 3D2N to enjoy the main sights the area has to offer.
