Epic Travel Tours started from trying to solve our own problems of arranging tours the way we want.  The key concept behind our tours is freedom.  Freedom to travel to where we want, how we travel, how much time to spend at a specific destination, flexibility to finetune our itineraries along the journey.

In 2010, we embarked on a train journey to Taiwan and was looking for a service provider to arrange the trips exactly the way we wanted it, taking care of the logistics for us.  All we wanted as travelers, was to turn up and enjoy our trip.  Sadly, customised tours was a very new concept, and none catered to our specific needs.  Most were group tours that had a prefix itinerary, tour guide bringing the whole troop for shopping (to get extra commissions) and rushing from places without any connection with the locals. 

Sounds familiar?  Am pretty sure most of us at one point or the other had done such group tours.

In the end, we solved our own problem of logistics, linking the train journey with local private tours as well as staying in some of the most wonderful minsus (local homestay).  The trip turned out to be one of the most memorable.  We would always remember, in between our train journeys, we squeezed a bicycle ride around the countryside in 2 hours in what was one of the most idyllic bicycle trail in Taitung.  Not forgetting, we had the hotspring resort’s owner coming in a garbage truck, ferrying us to the resorts as the motorbike was too small for our big backpacks.  Those were the cherished memories and always reminded us of our humble beginning.

Unknowingly, we carved a niche for our clients who wanted customised tours and the rest was history.  In 2011, Taiwan Free and Easy was established to provide highly customise tours to our clients.  After a decade, we are the expert for Taiwan tours and has been highly recommended by Taiwan Tourist Bureau on many occasions.

Riding on our success, we have expanded our services to arrange customised tours not bound by destinations.  Due to our limited resources, we do not do any advertising and only serve returning clients.  The downtime during the pandemic allowed us to set things right to give our brand a proper home.  As borders start to reopen, we are thrilled to restart our services too. 

To many, travel planning may just be a job.  To us, it is our purpose.  We take it upon ourselves to expose our clients to hands on experiences and  see travel in a different light.  Besides rest and relaxation, we are glad to be part of your travel story / travel memories.  It gives lots of meaning to the work we do.  It makes us feel alive.
